Veterinarian for Visiting Vet House Call Service
Are you…
…looking for the right fit for your work-life balance and a flexible lifestyle? House calls are ideal for working parents, which is how our director started as a mother of two 27 years ago.
…passionate about working with loving families who appreciate your attention to their pet?
…a professional seeking a ‘work family’ with a team of caring, dedicated, skilled individuals?
…a compassionate veterinarian with excellent communication skills and bedside manner?
…tired of twenty 15 minute appointments a day?
…a veterinarian who prefers medicine to surgery?
…flexible enough to work three or more days a week?
…wishing to avoid the crowds of people in a clinic? We practice social distancing and we masks and gloves. Our clients wear masks, social distance, and ventilate the work spaces.
We offer…
…an opportunity for you to make a significant difference in our community!
…mentoring from Dr. Sybil Murray with over 27 years of experience in making house calls and credentials in palliative care, pet hospice, and the art of home euthanasia?
Visiting Vet is an established mobile veterinary service in Vacaville, CA, where we keep our supplies. We were founded in 1993 and see primarily dogs and cats. Half of our patients are dogs, often large, senior dogs with mobility issues and the other half are cats, who take a dim view of travel to a fixed site clinic.
Palliative medicine is an emerging field of veterinary medicine and Visiting Vet is at the forefront of this field. We provide home-based consultations, supporting families in accessing palliative care services with a focus on pain management, symptom control, quality of life guidance, and euthanasia. We have a strong commitment to working alongside our patient’s primary care provider and specialty veterinarians to improve outcomes.
Our current practice thrives on being a flexible work environment. We are currently a part time practice consisting of one vet and one assistant. Our director, Dr. Sybil Murray, is certified in hospice and palliative care, with an emphasis in pain management. Our goal is to expand to provide more care and coverage in the greater Solano County area and surrounding environs. We use Vetter, a cloud based system, to facilitate working from home. We arrange virtual visits to help clients decide when to schedule a house call.
You’ll be working with the support of a wonderful team who will coordinate your appointments, provide technical help during visits, and provide ongoing physical and emotional assistance to patients and caregivers.
We offer competitive compensation and PTO and CE allowance.
